Program Summary: The "Environmental Footprint" program offers an engaging activity for youth that promotes the idea of sustainable leadership and equips them with community resilience skills. The program consists of two components: theoretical and practical.

Theoretical Component:

  • Includes skills for planning and implementing a community-based agricultural environmental project.

  • Focuses on behavior change (consumption culture) by increasing belonging and responsibility towards the community.

Practical Component: The director chooses one of the following options:

  1. Environmental Project:

  • Creating a school garden planted with ornamental flowers or fruit trees.

  • Establishing a productive greenhouse for growing crops to provide healthy food for students.

  • Setting up an environmental laboratory.

  1. Sustainable Environmental Workshops:

  • Hands-on workshops such as carpentry for students to produce classroom furniture like benches or wooden tables, or wooden planters for gardening.

  • Recycling workshops, such as:

  • Recycling clothes to create office or home accessories for classroom decoration, like planting vases.

  • Recycling paper to make small planters.

  • Recycling ceramics and construction waste to create a mosaic workshop for the school logo.

  • Nail and thread workshop to produce an art piece.

  • Thread workshop to create keychains, wall hangings, or winter scarves.

  • Printing on multi-use cups to encourage the use of personal cups and reduce single-use plastic cups.

  • Printing on fabric bags, with each student having their own reusable bag to reduce plastic bag use.

These workshops aim to foster a sustainable culture among students and reduce the environmental footprint by promoting eco-friendly practices and enhancing their practical skills.
